MT => LJ sync screwed up?

Seems my sync between my MT and LJ is screwed up. Atleast two people have now said that they are not able to see my posts on their LJ friends page.

Does this one work? If not, i am clueless.

Livejournal Friend's Birthday

Want to find the birthday of your friends on Livejournal. Here is a script which fetches and displays the info from LJ. It uses the HTTP::Lite perl module.

Its self explanatory.

Comments welcome.

Half Asleep

Was getting this error for the past couple of hours when I was trying to start snmpd (net-snmp) on a Solaris box.

"init_kmem: kvm_open failed: Error 0"

Was thinking that either some necessary library was missing or some permission issue. Finally managed to find the reason thanks to Google. Had installed a package meant for Solaris 2.6 on a Solaris 8 box. Shit... Never work when you are half asleep.

Fedora Installed

Atlast got some time to install Fedora Core I on my laptop. Looks good.

1. Lilo is gone.
2. The boot up process is now a fancy gui. Not that OK / Failed stuff. So Windows users must like it.

Got drivers for my modem and it works fine. Need to get power management working.

Dont know if i will be able to switch to Linux fully at work. The only major bottle neck seems to be Sametime Client. Rest can be managed.

Let us see where it goes.

Hackers make public IT-savvy Naidu's diary

From ET:

If you ask the Andhra chief minister's office for a list of Chandra Babu Naidu's engagements next week, you are certain to be told that it is a state secret.

In fact, his security detail is told about them only 24 hours in advance. But shockingly, hackers have been privy to such information weeks in advance. (Do you think Internet has made security lapses easier?)

For six months now, they have been hacking into the CM's mail server and downloading his schedules for 20 days at a time. This includes his engagements, his tours of the districts, the visitors calling on him - in fact, everything he notes down in his diary.
